Founded in 1902, Guizhou University (GZU) has a centennial history and a profound culture. Located along the picturesque Huaxi River, GZU is one of the key “211 Project” universities, a member of the “14 National Key Construction Universities in the Central and West Region of China” and a member of the country's “One Province One Top University Project”.
GZU covers a total area of 407.844 hectares. The university consists of 40 colleges, covering 12 branches of learning including philosophy, economics, laws, liberal arts, history, education, science, engineering, agriculture, administration, art as well as medicine. 137 bachelor’s programs, 197 master’s programs and 48 doctoral programs are offered at the university. At present, GZU has a full-time enrollment of 46,549 undergraduates and 7,575 postgraduates. Among the 3,950 staff, there are 2,493 full-time teachers.
So far, GZU has established cooperative relations with more than 140 academic institutions in over 40 countries and regions. Over 900 international students from about 50 countries or regions registered in GZU for long or short term studies in 2017.
GZU Special Exchange Scholarships
GZU Special Exchange Scholarships are scholarships jointly sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and the Guizhou University Scholarship Council. These scholarships are only applicable to exchange applicants nominated by European or American partner universities of GZU that are listed under this program.
The special scholarships support One-Academic-Year or One-Semester exchange students. The major of study is Chinese Language and Culture, with courses offered at beginner, basic, intermediate and advanced levels, according to the Chinese language proficiency of the exchange students.

lthe applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen in good health and with no bad records;
lthe applicant shall be a currently registered student at the dispatching institution;
lthe applicant’s exchange duration is one academic semester or one academic year;
lthe applicant’s credits earned at Guizhou University shall be transferrable to credits at the dispatching institution.

1. Prepare the following application materials accurately and completely (in Chinese or English):
lLetter of Student Status issued by the dispatching institution
lLetter of Recommendation for the GZU exchange scholarships issued by the dispatching institution
2. Send the packed application documents in clear scans to (we suggest that our exchange program partner institution assign a program coordinator to collect and deliver all the exchange applicants' documents together to us).
Note: Applicants for September 2018 enrollment must submit the applications before June 20, 2018. Applicants for February 2019 enrollment must submit the applications before November 30, 2018.

3. After receiving the applications, we will review the documents and confirm admission and scholarship qualification results of the applicants within one week, if we have no further questions on the applications. For confirmed scholarship candidates, Guizhou University will send their Admission Notice and JW202 Visa Application Form together with other enrollment materials in July (January for Spring Semester).
